Our vision from the start really was to build Armadillo as a company that could stand the test of time one that was committed to giving back to the community and the planet. We initially found common ground through our shared love for handcrafted textiles, and our shared vision of creating a business that would thrive while centering philanthropy and sustainability at its core. How was it founded? What is the inspiration behind the comapny?įried: It seems like a lifetime ago that I first connected with my business partner and friend Sally Pottharst. Learning about the time-honored techniques used to create truly exceptional products was the starting point for my journey with Armadillo. Prior to starting Armadillo, I spent a lot of time in India and was lucky to connect with a network of incredible craftspeople, and in particular a group of talented female artisans. For over a decade, we’ve been dedicated to making beautiful rugs in a way that is respectful to both people and the planet.
